Treatment methods include cognitive, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, interpersonal, and humanistic. If you want or need medication, Dr. Alexander will consult with your family doctor or a psychiatrist about a prescription and will guide you through the process. Areas of Specialty
A therapy session is different from an appointment with your medical doctor. To be successful, therapy requires an active effort (work) on your part during and between sessions. The therapy process has many benefits for people who make a commitment to work on their issues. Benefits include better relationships, resolution of specific problems, and significant reductions in feelings of distress. Therapy can stimulate a variety of uncomfortable feelings as you recollect and work through events in your past and present, and you will not leave every session feeling happy and content! But these feelings of discomfort will pass, and they let you know that the process is working for you.
